A friend of mine has a 97 powerstroke and has the ttb50 ifs junk but would like to know if the balljoints out will swap on to a 92 ball joint hp60 so he can retain the same brake style his 97 has?

my guess is no.

a friend of mine investigated this very same thing with a d44 straight axle and a d44 ttb. Wouldn't work ball joint spacing was different.

but you never know?

Go ask the question in the forum over at http://thedieselstop.com (formerly www.ford-diesel.com). The folks over there know the PSD's.

I think that you can bolt the caliper brackets on them and then use the same brakes as the newer ones. The hubs are the same so just unbolt the spindles and transfer everything, I think

Try Parts Mike, he sells a Dana 60 inner knickle, ball joint style. He should know if they'll swap on.
I beleive the Dana 44 TTB adn Dana 50 TTB have different ball joint spacing. SO my belief is the 50 TTB would if Dana 60 ball joints.
