First thing I thought when I read the thread title!

You guys realize this is the middle of the Mojave Desert where 120* temps aren't uncommon and 110 is pretty average? It may feel cooler at night, but what are you going to do for the other 16 hours a day of blazing sun, NO shade, and dust? Yes its a "dry" heat, but its still like sitting in front of a blast furnace if you're lucky enough to have a breeze. :D

Wrong info.

Takeover will be staged out of Big Bear.
Hammer trips will be either night runs, or early early morning runs.

I won't be out there in the day with no AC, fuck that

I plan to make the trip.

I'm surprised they chose Big Bear. Those trails get really crowded and there really isn't anything hardcore there at all. John Bull and maybe 150ft of Holcolmb Creek is about the only stuff difficult at all. And that is for an IFS rig. I have gotten stockers through every trail up there without an issue. I guess Gold Mountain is decent in the rock garden to play around.

Its a pretty decent place to hang because of the atmosphere and run some milder trails. JV is about an hour away though.

Mossy, you will be bored out of your mind in Big Bear IMO. You should come to Colorado instead: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=846896

If you're driving all the way out there, you should hit Rubicon, Fordyce, or Dusy Ershim instead.

Next time I drive that far I'm running Foredyce, Rubicon, and Dusy, if they're all still open.....plus I may just stay out there and move in with Booger or ErikB :flipoff2:

I'm definitely not going to be able to swing this one unfortunatley.....

If I can swing one big trip this year it will be the CO run, but due to her vacation days (or lack there of), I'd either have to run it solo or pick her up at an airport. She still has a flight voucher due to her then douche ball boss and last year's UA, so the CO trip could be a possibility if construction picks up and money stabilizes a little.

spot on. ive ran everything in big bear with an open front diff, welded rear and stock gearing in my tacoma. its fun and challenging when it snows but other than that a walk in the park.

jv is more than an hour from big bear.

Depends where you're coming from or how slow you drive. I could get from the dump to Means in an hour. Maybe add 15-minutes for Fawnskin.

I drove up and down the mtn every day for 6-years though, so I may drive a little faster than most people. :D
