88 toyota broke suspension advice needed Ok new to trucks. I have an 88 yota with a broke a arm bracket where the strut I believe its called mounts to it. I can't afford to replace now and it doesn't seem to be making a huge dif. If I were to run it like that how dif would the handleing be and should I disconnect the right side also. Would it be a huge problem? Does anybody run without them for say a softer suspension? I don't know it sounds stupid to me without them but Like I said I'm new to the truck. If I were to get problems what could I expect any help would be quite useful thanks said I'm new to the truck. If I were to get problems what could I expect any help would be quite useful thanks

Let me see if I get this right. The mount for the shock on the lower A-arm broke? Or the upper shock mount broke?

If it the upper shock mount, it can be welded back on. Or you can go ahead and do a SAS conversion since the truck is kinda doing it on it's own

What do you mean what should you expect??? There is no shock, so it will drive like crap, and the tire is going to be bouncing all over the place. Maybe you should consider parking it before you cause an accident and hurt somebody and or yourself .... :shaking:

hey steveh, my post did not need deleted. i told him exactly what the problem would be. the ride was going to be bouncier/bumpier with no dampening from the shock...:shaking:

You'll wish you would have fixed it if you hit a pothole the wrong way and lose control and hurt someone. Get it fixed or sell it to someone capable of fixing it. Road safety is nothing to take lightly. If it's that rusty that your shockmounts are falling off you probably have other issues with the frame and crap too. Do the general public a favor and have a mechanic or someone that isn't new to toyota trucks look this thing over.
