A little advice for anyone getting one of these machines..... Try to follow the instructions first. If something doesn't work out, call the tech line and save yourself the frustration. The tech guys are really good and can get you up and running really fast.

I have the 2x2 and when I initially set it up last week I mounted the router holder to the mounting plate and then attached the mounting plate to the “cassette” on the gantry as described in the manual.

Today I wanted to remove the router mount and attach the machine torch holder. However, when I attempted to loosen the 4 5/16”-24x3/4” Socket head cap screws that were holding the mounting plate to the cassette they would not come off. There is a very tiny gap between the cassette and the top of the gantry where I could see that as I was turning the screws the 1 inch long nuts were turning as well. I don’t think this is how it is supposed to work!!!

How is someone supposed to remove the screws if the nuts are spinning??? The gap between the cassette and the gantry is to small to fit a wrench into to hold the nut.

There is an access door in the back side of the gantry.

I saw that but it does not provide any access to these nuts that are holding the mounting plate to the cassette.

Dang. I am not at the office to be able to tell you what the deal is. I am wondering if a weld behind the plate broke. You can disconnect the carriage from the lead screw thru that access door, then remove the bar holding the carriage to get at it. We made it pretty easy to tear down if need be. You just really don't want to mess with the carriage itself if you can help it.

I don't think I want to mess with the carriage either, nor should this be necessary just to remove a tool from the tool plate???

I just got back from the hardware store and was able to get a really cheap flat metal wrench and hold the nuts so I could remove the screews.

These nuts pretty much turn freely now so remounting the plate seems impossible. I think there is some mojor defect going on here. I left the Tech Support people an email so I guess I will have to wait for them to get back to me on Monday.

I agree. There are more than 50 in use so far and this is the first we have heard of such an issue. I promise we will get it taken care of. PM me your name, phone number and email address. We will put someone on it first thing Monday morning.
