any good info out there on setting up a q jet to work better offroad ?

Lower the float.Other then that I don't remember.I ran a q jet for years.Just awhile ago.I do remember playing with it alot before I got it to run at any angle.

TBI is cheap and easy.

Yeah ....like he said....lower the float. There are some different jets available...rig up up a manual choke.( make sure the throttle shaft has NO PLAY )even a little will bring on the Qudra-junk moniker. Get some bushings and ream them- they are easy to install. I'm sure someone on the net has them or where to get the right size. Had mine purring for 15 years still!:smokin:

Hmm not a bad idea, maybe start a thread on carb upgrades around. Plenty of people still running them, so see what comes up.
