Yeah I saw that over on Discoweb. Was really biting my lip not to tear into him for that pitifully dangerous recovery. But I was good and didn't say anything. I want to know how in the hell he rolled it in the first place?

Oh well, I guess Shite happens sometimes!

Ouch is right!

I think he could have driven out of it if he would have just mashed the gas when it started to go over!

Looks like someone is going to have a trail rig pretty soon!!!! That thing will be totalled out for sure. No way an insurance company will try to fix it. Could be some good parts around in the future if the guy doesn't want to do anything to it.

What's the story???

Redrangie,

It might have been marginally safer if he had just hooked up his own winch and used it in the same manner that the hand winch was used for.

What a cluster of a recover.

I have personally been involved in a recovery where we flipped the truck over end-ways, but we had TWO trucks doing it, and both had winches (Warn, BTW).

I still say he could have driven out of it. :flipoff2:

Sucks though, even though I don't know the guy I still feel for him.

Just goes to show that you can have all the shiat you want bolted onto your truck and stupid stuff will happen and you'll end up on your lid. He's like the $G poster child.

HOLY SHIATTTTT!!!!

Look at 22 of 63

There is no F-ing way that this is a safe recovery. Unsafe leadership, unsafe equipment, unsafe participants, luckily a safe result.

FAWWWWK.

All's well that ends well eh?

OH man, 24's a good one too.

"Ho hum. I'll just rest here and lean against this line that has a LOAD on it while I relax my leg and strike a casual pose while this 6000lb truck is balancing precariously on it's NOSE!!!!!"

Keep me away from these guys.

BS, that recovery was safe!

Well, the part where they are ramping it on that flat-bed, anyways...

Oops ? should be more like DOH!! .Honestly ,who was the rocket engineer that thought it would be better to flip it end over rather than roll it sideways .Didn't the flop do enough damage ?, or were they trying to make sure it would be an insurance writeoff ? .Being a Rigger/Crane driver ,it never ceases to amaze me the antics some people get up to with a winch .As for the heading "check out this amazing extrication" I'm thinking he couldn't spell " A group of complete morons with a winch ,fawk a pi$$ simple recovery ".My money says that these guys couldn't organise a fawk in a whorehouse with a fist full of fiftys .

EDIT ;Having gone back for another look (its like a train wreck aint it) .If the guy who owns the Disco sees this GET NEW FRIENDS ,cause the ones you've got are oxygen thieves .

Redrangie and LWG,

Apologies to both.

I'm sure one of you is flattered that I mistook you for him, and the other one is pissed!

It's up to you two to figure out who is who! :flipoff2:

I just took the time to look at the pics... WOW!

I like:

The tow driver hooking up to the skid plate, when there are recovery points on the bumper.

The Plywood and Thule roof rack/roll bar

Climbing on the undercarriage while in "recovery"

Questions:

Why didn't they test the obviously eroding narrow ass goat path of a shelf road?

Why didn't they just pull it over on to is sides?

It needs a Darwin sticker now.

Here's my rule:

If my gut makes me ask "I wonder if I will damage anything/roll/sh!t my pants on this section?" I AT LEAST get out and check it out first, or I just won't do it, especially if the wifey is there as her screams scare the sh!t out of me.

Yup, if ya look closely you can see the "crack" pipe they were using in one guys hand :smokin:

I just don't get the recovery method:confused:

Also, it says the road gave way from under him....... I looked at it.... the distance from the road he landed..... he was cruising, and just screwed up....

Hmmmm, buggy parts:D
