: question on normal availability for B-Joints

Hey guys I have noticed a few times that the Ballistic joints have been on a kinda long Backorder list in the recent past. I am looking for a regular supply of joints to use in my fab shop but need to make sure that they are regularly available. I cant have a 2 week wait to get them each time a place an order and wanted to check and see what the normal status for these is do they shipp next day or in a couple weeks. I would mostly be using the 2.63 Narrow (2.38 with shank) the reg 2.63 with shank and then the 3.0 with shank. basically if I were to place an order today when would I expect to get them?

I have orderd their joints on 5 seperate occasions in the 3.0 and 2.6 variety and recieved them all within a week or less.

Not saying thats the 100% all the time norm, but thats what I've experinced:grinpimp:

Thanks Chad sorry for the long wait to reply but things have been busy here This coming monday will make 2 weeks from date of order and they have not shipped yet :( gonna try and work some other things out that Chad has offered so hopefully we can get this going. I like the B-Joints and right now dont have the need for hundreds at a a time (yet) but gotta have the reliability.

Curiosity makes me wonder why availability seems to be the main weakness of the joints?

Simply very large volume that is not as predictable as we would hope. We have 10,000 pcs on their way from the forge right now so there shouldn't be an interruption in stock levels for a while.

DrVic I understand that things happen bud and in no way trying to jump on the bash wagon. I choose B-Joints after a lot of research becasue I think they are the best joint for the money and better than some much higher priced. I just have been seeing a lot of post about 3-7 week shipping times which is something I cant work around. So wanted to get the details before I jump into listing my new products using the B-joints. I dont mind keeping some on my shelves but as a brand new product I truly have no way to gauge how many I am gonna need for a while so just gotta make sure I can get them readily. Chad had sent me a pm about buy in which I just replied to yesterday so we will veture that road for a while. I will have at least 3 different products using joints and will need the 3.0, the 2.63 and the 2 3/8.

I currently have customers emailing me about pics of the prototype which was supposed to be done last week because when I ordered them on monday the 15th was told they would ship out the end of the week. Dont mean to beat a dead horse just gotta have reliable supply:cool::beer:

Backed up 9/16" joint orders begin to ship Monday 100 / day until all backorders are completed. Thanks for everyone's patience.

We have had supplier issues lately. Although we're doing very well at this time, our suppliers have gone to half and third shifts just to keep the doors open. We have found new (multiple) suppliers to help this sort of thing from happening again.

thanks Dr that is exactly what I wanted to know bud. I have been in buisness and know that if "we" could control everything then things would go easier. Just gotta try and control what we can and assuring a readily available supply of products is something I have to control. Sounds great man thanks for the update. I think if and when ballistic fab gets this all onder control they will make an oustanding company with an outstaanding product.

I just placed an order. I am good friends with Jack Adams and I appreciate your sponsorship of him.

When you get a chance to look my order over, if there is going to be a major delay, let me know, I can change it up to suit stock. I am making a custom piece.

i know that the 9/16th stuff was back ordered,i had my buddy just change it to the 5/8th stuff so we could get his rig done for a upcoming run,the ballistic crew got the stuff out asap and i think they overnighted it at there expense so we could get it done for an upcoming run.

Same story here man IDK but looks like i may start looking for another joint unfourtunately i cant do much with this guys, sorry. ordered 3 mondays ago was told they would ship out end of that week. called the next week said they would go out that friday or monday which would have been 9 days ago and they still have not shipped and already lost one customer sorry guys either i need a definate ship date (this week) or a refund and NO restocking fees. This sucks man i really like these joints to.. :shaking: perfect damn sizes and great product reputation but that does me no good if I cant count on getting them anywhere close to when I am told I will guys.

The backed up forgings came in, were machined and plated and have been shipping all week, but at this point it is simply a bottle neck in assembly. Let us know if you haven't received shipping info and are willing / able to assemble them yourself to expedite the process.

We appologize for the wait this time around, we have found supplementary suppliers to ensure this issue will be resolved in the future.

Are you guys out again? I just called on availablility, and was told your waiting on housings, which doesn't sound like what was explained in this thread. In particular I'm looking for the 2.63" 1.25 shank joints. They said you had LH, but not RH.

I'm in need of 7 each RH and LH, but unfortunately I need to have them by the end of next week. I guess if that's not possible I'll have to look at other options, but I really like your product.

We have shipped over 1,000 pieces since the beginning of last week, more and more come in each day from plating. We should be able to fill orders on joints within 2-3 days and if you need them by a certain time frame we certainly can work with you on that at this point. I'll let Will know that you may be calling and we'll see if we can figure it out.

Well, called and talked to Will, he didn't see how I could get any RH joints out by end of next week with supply and the orders placed.

Oh well, I guess I will grab some JJ's. Too bad, you've got a good product, you just need to figure out the supply side a bit better.

well just got off the phone with Chad and he said my stuff would ship out today but had to switch everything to Left hand thread which for me and my applicaion is no big deal. So hopefully they do ship today for sure I need them by end of the week at the latest.

Thanks R. Buck still proplexed about this and not sure what to do for the long haul with future orders:confused:

Keep in mind that March is our busiest month by 10-20% on average. We should have no problems maintaining stock levels once we move forward in the year and get the new forging company on board.

Thanks for keeping us up until the late hours of the night!

definately understand that the warm weather wakes all the crawller and suspension junkies up. I definately want to stay with the ballistic joint for my products just gotta make sure I can reliably get them. I can and will stock some on my shelves but just gotta know that I can get more in a reasonable time. a week or very close to it. So glad to hear you got some new resources to pull from hopefully that will in fact help everyone. The only negatives I have ever heard about these joints is shipping and availability so if this new supplier helps to fix that I thinkk you guys got yourselves a winner. and a new regular customer. my next order will tell the tale

I was really hoping this would be true. I ordered 5 1.25 RH thread 2.63 Ballistic Joints and some brackets two weeks ago (and was billed almost immediately) and have been told many different ship dates throughout the numerous calls that I have made within this time. I saw this post and expected to hear that my Joints would have either shipped out today or some time in the next day or so. I called and was told that it would be 3 MORE WEEKS!!! Sorry guys but you just lost a customer. That is simply unacceptable. Looks like I'll be looking for some Johnny Joints.

Edit: I expect my refund in full soon so I can place my order through another company. Order #OL 13728

Daniel

Whoever I just talked to on the phone about fifteen minutes ago. I asked him why you would have said that ya'll were getting them in on Pirate, and he put me on hold and came back to the phone to say that it (your post on Pirate) said nothing about having them in stock again, only that the new supplier for ya'll was going to be 6 weeks ahead of schedule, which would be 3 weeks from now.

Edit: I look forward to hearing from one of them. I'm not sure if he had cancelled my order or not already. I can be reached on my cell at 956-245-9283.

Update to clear things up.

I received a call from Dave almost immediately after Jeff posted that he would have someone contact me. He assured me that whoever I talked to previously had accidently given me the wrong information and that the joints are in stock and will be shipping out today and a tracking # would be sent to my email. Thank you Jeff and Dave for making it right.

Hot off the Hammer! Got this pic from the owner's cell phone at the forge this morning.

They are finishing up another batch of 10,000 pcs tomorrow. This is the batch that Will was referring to when he said that they wouldn't be ready for 3 weeks... but was not aware that a couple thousand came in early this week.

Thanks for everyones patience while we meet our heightened demands.

Dave, or Jeff, or anyone from Ballistic, I hope you can help me here. I was told yesterday evening from Dave that my order was shipping yesterday evening, and that a confirmation email would be sent to me with a tracking number for the package that would include my entire order (3 brackets and 5 Ballistic Joints). I made sure that you had my email in your database and was assured I would recieve a tracking number. It's been over 24 hours from that phone call yesterday and I still haven't received any email. I called this afternoon at 3:13 PM Central (2:13 your time) to find out what the tracking number was or if my order had even been shipped, and was told that Dave would call me within 30 minutes. I said ok and we hung up. I waited over an hour and called back at 4:26 PM Central (3:26 your time) and asked to speak with Dave. I was told that he was out of the office and would call me back as soon as he got back. I was never told the status of my order during either phone call. I never received a call from Dave or anyone from Ballistic the rest of the day.

Did my order ship yesterday like Dave told me it would? If so, how come I never received an email with a tracking number? How come nobody could tell me the status of my order? Your company has $303.42 of my money and I still have no product nor do I have confirmation that it has even shipped to me. Is there a reason that I never got a call back?

Thanks,
Daniel

Just got mine the other day. Does suck shipping takes forever sometimes but I usually take that into account. Hard to beat the joint strength for the price

Out of curosity: how many of these do you sell a month for the each joint?

will be calling tomorrow guys to see what the status is on my order form the 15th of feb. called in and talked with Chad on Wednesday last week when he asked If I could switch to LH threads which is ok for me he said they would ship out that day but have not gotten a tracking number yet so fingers crossed that they have gone out.

In understanding guys I know that suppliers can really screw you up and loving the fact that you got another one on board for you. I know how orders can keep coming in and your supplier is falling short, things get backed up and then your scrambling to get the packed and shipped and chasing the UPS and FEDEX truck to the pick up time, been there done that and totally understand. I am going to mark this order up to things have since been improved and once you get dug out form what your telling us you will be able to stay current with shipping orders. So I will be placing another order soon to test the new system you have LOL:laughing: Glad to hear you will be ready for it.

if my order has shipped can someone shoot me an email to rbuck"AT"blackopsdiesel.com "AT" = @ but this way keeps the spammers from hunting my email down

Thousands... while we may have a large presence, we do only have 10 in-house CNCs running machined parts (not counting the laser & presses). We continue to grow as quickly as we feel that we can sustain, but it really comes down to this... Do we raise prices so high that it cuts the market down to a manageable size, or do we run as hard as we can to keep up with demand until 'slow' season rolls around again? I would like to think that we can do the latter until we outgrow our suppliers, ie plating and forging, we're only as good as they are. We think that we have it figured out at this point, and it will take another substantial growth spurt to put us behind again. Time will tell, but I assure you that we are doing everything we can to keep these in stock and ready to ship.

Jeff
