hello all,
I am tracking a noise in the jeep (98 tj 3 in sus with 33's) and and the 64 million dollar question is where to start!!! With the jeep in park when I turn the wheel ( left or right) I hear a pop, I have looked at the trac bar, tire rods etc to see if anything is wiggling when turning the wheel but all seem tight. My LCA bushings are shot, so there could be some binding there. When driving I have a lot of play in the steering along with some bump steer too, trying to fig where to start. any suggestions.

u-joints?

Id get a shop or someone else to take a look while you turn the wheel back n forth slowly.......
sometimes many joints moving a small amount can translate to a bigger feeling problem.

Check the steering box mount to the frame also!!
Get those arms replaced if nothing else is seems to be wrong.......

yeah the u joints look good, pulled the shafts about 6 mo ago, but then again changing them is never a bad idea, maybe the LCA and ujoints, and new tire rods (again, only seem to last a year). thanks
