If you can get a good shot of Spaceghost's hood I'd really appreciate it. I need it for some advertising material.

Thank you,

Hey Jaffer,

It seems like the average tire is a mud terrain type tire, whether BFG or Goodyear, but there doesn't seem to be any Swampers, whether TSL, SX or Boggers. Why is that? NM terrain or something I am missing?

Thanks
Jason

Sad to say, but swampers suck for comp rigs!...leave them on your trail rig when you need the sidewall protection.

SpaceGhost rolled out of town here with the Badlands beadlocks on the Cruiser, and the "dubs" he's rolling now look like the MRT secret weapons they are rolling out for this event.........

The logo on the side looks like a checkered flag and the MRT letters on there as well.

Bling fawking bling Mike!:flipoff2:

Maybe they are a package deal he got with the tires from BFG?????

We will know soon enough.

I always had the best success when it was overcast. Direct sunlight dictates the angles that you can get a good exposure-which seldom are the best angles to shoot jeeps at.

Can't wait to see the shots. I was supposed to get down there this weekend but I have to make money to buy axles.

Well, the tunout was tremendous ...
This Friday crowd looked like the size of a Sunday finalie of past years so tomorrow will undoubtedly be a record breaker.

The promoters laid out an excellent coarse, all along one mesa face and top, and very spectator friendly.

There were roll overs aplenty on a couple of the most insanely steep climbs and a good deal of breakage to boot.

Some folks just aren't used to the traction you can get here, and you can get it at the worst times.
Like after you've tried every technique and trick in the book to make a ledge so you decide to 'give it the onion'... put the petal to the metal, start rip-roaring then sometimes - lift off! ... or sometimes 'SNAP!'.
That's make it or break it time and after today, many feel it was make it or break it on almost every obsticle.

I took over 100 shots today which will edit down to around 50 or so.
Some overalls, lots of action and some which I should call 'personality' pics ... including babes ...

Stay tuned ...

I just got back into town from the Supercrawl. Had a great time. I saw Lance and Mike do a few courses and they did well on them. Lots of Rolls. some were nasty. I got some tape of chris durham rolling and some of Lance and Mike. I will try and get them up soon. It was great to finally meet some people from here like Lance and JR. The 6x6 jeep was sweet but I didnt see it do anything because it was broken.

Arizona Highways Magazine! How do I go about getting that in! I don't particularly feel like I have to drop my credentials to make you respect me, but I've shot my fair share of large events and had plenty of pictures published in magazines and publications with national distribution.

Just because you've been handling a camera for a long time doesn't automatically make you the best.

Sweet indeed! Awesome piece of work.

Yea it broke...I met up with (bumped into) Polop about 12:00 or so, and he and the boy's were holding one half of their front drive shaft....Seems the shaft contacted the tran's bell-housing (or something in that area) and literally cut the thing in two when the suspension twisted up hard. Fin' bummer for them because I think that course would have lent itself well to the 6x6....Gotta' hand it to them though...They did attemp #1 without the front shaft!

Fin' sick carnage all around...#8 has some SPECTACTULAR roll's....JR flipped the Fat City bronco over backwards (#10?). Not much damage as far as I could tell from the rock ledge I was on...He did finish the day after that.

I'll post some pics when after I get a little sleep...

Damn! I didnt see that!

I saw them putting in a new driveshaft on the 6x6 and then they attempted another course and timed out. Upon exiting, the driveshaft messed something else up again. The 6 wheel steering is bad ass and the joy stick controll is so cool. It just needs the bugs worked out of it.

Also, Jaffer & Brian1 thanks for your pix and vids.

I am really feeling bad looking at all the pics and vids as I had actually planned to be at Supercrawl, made my reservations at the La Quinta back in July. Had to cancel though cause I am still working on my fawking dissertation and I gotta graduate this Dec and get a job.

Brian1, when I come out to ABQ to interview with UNM I'll look you up. Depending on the timing maybe I'll bring my heep and hit Las Cruces and Farmington while I'm at it. How is the weather in Framington in Dec for wheeling?

We came in 26th but who's counting! I had a rusty start, my bronco thought it was a pacman, eating up the cones. Then I did a periwinkel role on #9. Twisted a little sheetmetal (thank god for dzus fasteners) and on the landing, bent the front axle a little (the 9" housing). But sill on the tires, moter still runing I turned around and attacted it again, this time to victory! We did really well on six of the ten obstacles.
There was really only one obstacle, #5, that I would consider was a rockcrawl. The rest were more or less point-and-shoot which made for good entertainment.
There was a guy out there that had a Mazda rotory engine in his rig. He was a nice guy, but when he was running, it sounded like someone was cutting up firewood

does any one have any more shots of this guy, he put on a hell of a show on getyting up this hill

That's Brian Hamilton. If you want to see him get stupid with the skinny plan a trip to ERoCC in TN, that's his normal driving style :D Although he did tell me he's pulling the 383 stroker out :( :D He made it up obstacle #9 in about 20 seconds, flying over the bump where everyone was getting hung up

Ken, I am sorry we did not hook up and especially sorry I did not get any pics of you and your rig. With all ten gates starting and going simultaniously ... the place was a ZOO!

Right from the get-go I advised Lance to hire on at least one or two other photographers in addition to anyone who would do the write ups and interviews.
I wish I could have taken and post many times more pics but that was impossable both physically and time wise due to the hi resolutons I like to use.

I started puting up this work late after the first day because I could do so that same evening and because this gang was clammering like wolves for pics and results.

Lance stated he wanted complete and comprehensive coverage so this thread should by no means deter anyone else from posting their shots, viedos, and write ups to that end.
I hope he can find the time to take this work and that of others to put together the best Super Crawl coverage on the web, as I believe was intended.

Till next time ...

As Randii stated, that is Curt Hildebrands narrowed TJ. It sports his latest suspension design (previously he created the Revolver Shackle and Z-box that are marketed by Tera). This new suspension design has been purchased by BDS. They just finished up their testing and official research stuff and will be going to test market of it in the beginning of 03 and out in force by mid year if all goes well. Hopefully sooner if there are no snags in production.

He came in 23rd. I think since the local comp he added a hood and made some other mods to pass tech. The vertical obstacles and "point and shoot" course favored his long wheelbase.
