Well, ya'll seem to know hydrualic cylinders pretty well. So I thought I would ask here. On our drilling rig, is a 7ft cylinder. That is the stroke of the rig. We are going to increase that to 12ft. And what I am asking, is where do ya'll think would be the best place to get a 12ft cylinder?

There are dozens of maufacturers of cylinders like what you need. Start with your local hydraulics suppliers.

I interned at an engineering sales company for engineering fabrication of advanced products a year ago and they had a few books for all types of hydraulics, I am sure they could get you one or worst case get you in touch with someone that could get you one. Basically company's call them up with their designs and they supply the products. I don't know how their prices are, but I don't think they'll rape you.

Or I am sure there are local company's that sell any hydraulic cylinders, rams, etc. I looked in my yellow pages under hydraulic equipment and suppliers and there were about 20 company's.
If this wasn't what you were looking for, I don't have any other ideas, but good luck.

As i see you are in Alaska i would suggest your local forklift comapany. They might be able to get what you need at a decent price..
