Hey everybody, to be honest I have no experience in Scouts except that I rode in 1 and thought it was BA! I've got an 83 cj7 and have tinkered with that a bit so I have a base knowledge of vehicles but I have friends and coworkers that have a plethora of know how. So, my deal is I know a guy that has 2 scouts for sale for $500. The first is a 73 scout II with the 6 cylinder(seized up), and the second is a 76 scout II traveler with the 345(runs but has some wiring problems). I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy them, but any suggestions of what a po-boy should do with them would be appreciated. Or, if theres any pertinent info I don't know about these units fill me in. Oh, not to Hijack the thread but can I just change my username or do I have to start from scratch(this is only my 2nd post so thats not a big deal)? PlugUgly was the first username I typed in when registering and it worked so I went with it....My bad.

Depends how rusty they are, but I'd wheel the shit out of the '76 while I build a truggy out of the '73.

$500 for both is not bad. It really depends where you live. If its Iowa, then $500 is way to much as there would be little if any steel left :laughing:

You could bob the traveler and put the Scout II top on it. Wiring issue can be solved with a new wiring harness. Or get the manual and figure out what the numbers on the end of each wire means. 73 title is smog free in this state.
