I have been experiementing with my suspension and have acheived a 4" lift. on my Disco. But i want to know how I can fit at least a 33x12.50 on my truck. I have trimmed fenders, offset my radius arms, etc... but i think if I put on 33" i will eat the rear of my door. I was thinking of the A-arm extension but I think that would hardly help. I guess i could put 6" bumpstops on and loose all up-travel but who wants that? Is there some trick that i have missed?
Ok the Flamesuit is on, have at it.

cut the doors. on the range rover i cut about 1.5" off and ended up with just under 3/4" gap between the inner and outer door panels. i filled it with some window insulation/seal stuff that is basically a 3/4" dia solid foam rope stuff, and is very easy to manipulate into bends and crevices. it works great as a first line of defense against moisture, but i will be piling on some silicon caulk (marine stuff) to make it truly water tight.
i would post a pic but the range rover is at the shop right now, not at home.
disclaimer- although it may not be my name on the title of the truck, i AM the one who performed the work described above :flipoff2:

You have any body lift in that 4inches or is it all spring. Maybe stick some pucks in there and go higher with the body..

It looks the same, but the rear arch on the disco is smaller.
WBDISCO,
OS is right. about the fender trimming. Even if they fit now, once you drill your bushings or other mods, a 12.50 will eat metal unless you limit up travel (Ask Way I have seen his bent fenders from this, and they are completely cut) , and like you said, "who wants that".

The reason that i trimmed my fenders in the first place is because i am runnin new rims with about 4" backspacing. The 265/75s tore the H$ll out of my rear fender and even dented a part of the door (not really noticable). The front is what i am really worried about, i think i would probably have to chop off the end of my sliders and then trim the fender. I don't really care to take a sawzall :flipoff2: to the fenders but i want it to look decent. Any suggestions on how tall a bumpstop to use? Thanks for the advice but i still have my flamesuit on just in case.

33 x 9.5 as OS says, or 2" more lift. I ran 33 x 9.5 with a 4" lift....1" off sliders at front and 1 1/2" of of front of front wheel well with the same rims you have to run that size tire. Actually a 33 x 9.5 is a great size for a disco.

You haven't missed the trick, you dismissed it. I have 33x12.5-15's on my disco with the GCR steel rims and a 3" lift. For the rear no door trimming at all, just the fender behind it. For the front, I did fender trimming, but my Aedofab slider was built with enough sense to allow for larger tires. No trimming required.
The wheels do rub a bit in the wheel well in the rear, but only towards the rear and barely at all when aired down.
3/4" A-Arm extension and RoverTym trailing links did the trick for me. Here's my write up:

Apparently me....:flipoff2: LOL. I love 33 x 12.50s and suggest doing what you can to fit wider than a 9.5. Not a big fan of those when compared to 12.5s
