: Fab Shops in MA/NH Area
I am looking for a Fabrication Shop to make a Front and Rear Plate Bumper for a Ford Ranger.
Anyone know of a good Shop to get this done, need good work and reasonable prices. :smokin:
Thanks,
baderic03 03-23-2010, 08:01 AM Call Josh in nh his website is drcustomwerk.com unbeliveable work
his number is on his page and he is located in Troy about 45min from Boston up rt2
Aidan 03-23-2010, 09:30 AM I've heard of the abovementioned place in Troy NH, there's one up in Rochester NH that has a thread on here, and one or two down in MA but I can't think of the names right now. Howe and Howe up in Kittery Me do some amazing work and I know a few people who work there, but they might be too big time to make custom one off stuff for the average guy.
powerline-k9 03-23-2010, 01:42 PM good work aint cheap and cheap work aint good

Y would u coment if u didn't know the name of the shops? Not trying to be a total ass jw
Aidan 03-24-2010, 09:54 AM y wud u comment if u cant uz ful wurds? :flipoff2:
Because I was typing and trying to remember the names while I was typing. I believe it was Full Tilt Fabrications I was thinking of at the time. The ones in Troy and Rochester didn't need me to write names because they were already mentioned or can easily be found on the forum. I also meant to go back and edit it after I looked it up later on, but forgot about it. Besides, isn't knowing that there are a few shops around even if you don't know the name a step up from not knowing if there are any shops around?

yes he is!!
I contact drcustomewerk, i have heard he did good work and maybe he does but $1100 estimate for a front bumper is too much, come on.
I know it isn’t cheap to get a bumper and made and good work too but I couldn’t wouldn’t pay that.
Thanks to all that suggested him but times are tuff for everyone and I can’t believe he has all that much work.
I am not criticizing just saying I can’t afford him.

I send an E-mail to Bob @ Baystate and well see where he is on pricing.
As I stated before price at this moment in time is important, I am running low on funds.
Thanks for the input.

ltr,
Just was wondering what your budget is, if 1,100 is to much ( witch I think is cheap) just tell us what yer budget is and maybe someone can help you out. Safely we hope.
Hard to say but $1100 for both would have been a better price.
There is a guy in AZ that make a Bumper for a Ranger, similar to the JK Jeep Winch Bumper, got good reviews, his was only $470 + $150 to ship to MA, so now we have $650 for a front bumper, how much more can the rear be ?
scrambler1 06-05-2010, 08:09 AM Take your time and try making your own. If you dont have a shop you must have a buddy that does.
Remember that $1100 bumper will last you a lifetime.
It is a $$ hobby, and there is not alot of aftermarket support for Ford rangers.
The price of steal has gone through the roof.
Are there a any ranger offroad forums that might have a write up on this??

ltr,
You are criticizing him because you think the bad economy for you should be bad for him so he should lower his prices. I am glad to see his shop busy he must do good work.
bobnoxious 06-18-2010, 10:14 AM Just FYI...I (Bob @ Bay State Off Road) never got an email from you.
We are also extremely busy here. That price of $1100/bumper is a very good price.
Look at it this way...12-16 hours of fab time/bumper minimum, X shop labor rate (ours is currently $77/hr) is $1232 before material (I feel this is actually rather optomistic, but I think it's a good number to use for argument's sake, as well as being pretty realistic).
There is no way a small custom shop can compete with larger builders for stuff like bumpers and skids and rocker protection...all our stuff is done from scratch, by hand, custom designed/fabbed/fit to your rig and needs.
powerline-k9 06-18-2010, 01:27 PM well said bob.
Here is a couple crappy pictures of a bumper i just put out the other day.

bobnoxious 06-18-2010, 04:11 PM Nice bumper Josh:smokin:
You must have a week's worth of labor in that thing!
