i got an electric 1/2ton budgit hoist for free problem is the hoist is fully retracted or up and it will not go down. how do i get the hoist to lower? what is the secret to this? a limit switch somewhere? if so where?

i am sure it is simple but darned if i can figure it out. i would love to get this fixed so i can load and unload plate easier around the shop.

Pendant control or pull cords?

If its a pendant control plug it in and manualy push the lowering contactor closed, then proceed to fix it. If you don't know what a contactor is take it to a pro.
