I have a 2000 TJ. It has a D30 front, D35 rear, locked, 4 to 1 231 T-case, 33 inch tires. Yes, this is definately a girl ride. 4 inch coils, 1 inch body. 4.10's and a whopping 66 to 1. Fawking awesome, eh? I have a 1986 waggy D44 front axle I am working with, and am undecided on the rear, 8.8, or maybe 9 inch. Gonna run a RE long arm up front and build a tri-link for the rear. I am not worried about rubbing cause I'll cut the SOB. So, now that most are laughing, I plan on running maybe a 36 inch SX, or a 37 inch MTR. I don't care about pavement. With the I6, would a 5.12 gear be sufficient for the tire size/motor combo? Suggestions???Yeah, I searched, most guys run v-8's, but I'm not. The way I see it , I need a good low gear to make up for the weaker plant. So its a question of my available torque and gear application for the tire size. I've had many opinions from those who are bystanders, so that don't mean sh*t to me. If anyone has something constructive to offer, then let me say thanks in advance, and lets hear it. If not, hide behind your screen, left wing, and I'll see you on the rocks.:flipoff2:

Cab n chasis 14bolt rear. ~63" then run 3/4 outers on the 44 front with warn shafts and CTM joints. Search the god of suspension thread for how to do your links. Since you have a 4-1 in your xfer case you could get by with 4.56 + Id gear the differentials for street rpms if you plan on driving it around town ect. 4.88 or 5.13 would work well. You do not need a v8 engine for rocks. For mud, and sand the horsepower helps, doesn't do much other than break shizzit on the rocks.

run the 5.13s, if you have the five speed, on the highway your 5.13s become 3.59s and with 36 or 37s you will still be down shifting on the hills.

correction your 5.13s will become 4.10s but still with 37s not a bad ratio on the hiway.
