: 63 Crewcab longbox d200 4x4
wagman 03-24-2010, 09:06 PM I,m going to look at one in the morning. I've seen it before it's very clean for being 47 years old. It has been a fire truck (red) and is said to have 67K orig miles. I'm a car dealer & will be looking to resell it after I'm done playing with it.
I'll get some pics up in the AM but was wondering if anyone had an opinion on a fair price that would let me make a reasonable profit (cause thats what I do) when I'm done with it.
Like I said 63 d200 crew cab long box, slant 6, manual, 4x4, rust free & 67k on the clock. I usually look on ebay for a simular item with actual bids to judge value on something I'm unsure of. The only thing I could find even close was a 64 chevy reg cab with a janky flatbed it was @ $1,400 with 8 bids.
Pics manana!
crashnzuk 03-24-2010, 09:46 PM Look for rust where the kick panels meets the floor board. I had a really nice 71 that was rust free everywhere but there, and it was a California truck since new.
Travis..
EarlKann 03-24-2010, 09:51 PM Cool truck, but not really that much of a market for it. You could scan through the classifieds here and see if you see anything similar.

Without even a picture I'd guess that I personally wouldn't pay more than 3-4k even if it was in really nice shape, and I'm a fan of that body style truck.
just4cuz 03-24-2010, 10:46 PM The slant six and the axles will be the biggest detractors. Front is probably a 44 with drum brakes for sure and the rear 60 is the big spline rear axle.
With a proper set of axles it would make a good donor for a Cummins swap, but you have not struck gold with this one.
wagman 03-25-2010, 09:22 AM This guy doesn't think he has a Barrett Jackson piece it could be bought for $2,500 and I don't want to make him a lowball offer because he works for the forest service & while there is no forest here they oversee the national grasslands which we wheel on alot because it's only about 15 miles away, so I don't want him to think of me as the dick who tried to steal his truck.
The truck is not quite as clean as I thought it has rust in the both rocker under the rear doors that would be an easy fix, a couple rust holes in the door sill drivers side and the floorpans are pitted up around the body mounts but has been treated with bedliner or something like it. The doors are starting to rust along the bottoms mostly in the bottom rear corners but not too bad yet.
It runs & drives great, has the 44 & 60, 4.10s, cracked exhaust manifold be he has one to go with it, inside of bed is good, tires are good. Looks like a new alt. and he has an aux heater all installed for the back seat with hoses ran but not T'd in yet. It's not a POS.
I think I will probably offer to sell it for him and rep it honestly on my website, ebay,& CL for 15% which is standard for a consignment deal. It would be interesting to see what it does.
jensenkennels 03-25-2010, 09:33 AM Looks like a nice old ride.
EarlKann 03-25-2010, 10:29 AM IMO $2500 is probably top value in that condition. Unless you find the one guy who is looking for that exact combination.
wagman 03-25-2010, 10:38 AM I agree that is why I'm leaning more towards selling it for him.
wagman 03-25-2010, 10:40 AM Looks like a nice old ride.
Hows your build comin' I havent checked on it lately. Awesome fab & out of the box thinking on the old dodge.
AbramsM1 03-25-2010, 06:17 PM I gotta be honest, I love that thing. Would make a sweet family tow rig with a cummins and some axles.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do with it.
Regards,
Abrams
AllGoNoShow 03-25-2010, 07:02 PM Make it look like this and profit...possibly the coolest pickup ever built...and im not even a dodge guy.http://i955.photobucket.com/albums/ae32/allgonoshow/crewcabdodge.jpg
crashnzuk 03-25-2010, 07:54 PM Definitely a cool old truck. You'd be better to consign it than front your own money if he'll go for it. Somebody will want that truck, especially with the fire dept lettering still on it. It has history. Try to advertise on one of the professional or service type vehicle websites. There are clubs that cater to old fire trucks, police vehicles, hearses, flower cars, etc.

Like this ^ with a 60 front a 14 bolt rear or newer 60 or 70 and a Cummins. 4 wheel disc brakes front and rear lockers and power steering. I would hazard a guess with tires that tall no fender trimming is required and you could run 4.10's with the Cummins and not over rev it. It would be a great truck but personally you really have to have a soft spot for old Dodges to pay $2500.00 for it in the stated condition. I drove these old bastards when I was in the Forest Service!
Kinda gives you an idea how old I am!:D Of course they were not new when I drove them and they were being replaced about the time I moved on to other employment.

I think I will be consigning it soon I talked to him this afternoon and explained my position to him and he was leaning that way. However it's pretty hard not to just cut him a check & enjoy it a while and worry about selling it later. Like everyone seems to agree it's just a cool old rig!
Elwenil 03-25-2010, 09:31 PM It is a cool truck but honestly, it's a Dodge and most Dodge truck fans consider it to be one of the uglier body styles. Traditionally, pre '94 Dodge trucks have been the least popular of the big 3 and when you consider parts availability, size, top speed and just general "old truck" styling, it's going to be a niche market for sure. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent truck and in great shape for it's age but unless you find someone who wants to restore it or modify it something like the Cummins swap guys are talking AND actually has the money to do more than just talk about it, you are just wasting your time. I definitely would not sink any of my own cash into it as more than likely it's going to be sitting around a while before a buyer is found.
serialkiller 03-25-2010, 09:37 PM damn i would love to own that. My dad had a 62iirc D-200 stepside
wagman 03-25-2010, 09:43 PM Yeah that would be 1 notch cooler (stepside) I don't think I could control myself if it was.
wagman 12-15-2010, 08:01 PM Bringing this thread back from the dead. The owner of this old crewcab is interested in trading for a pickup on my lot. Anyone interested in making a reasonable offer on it. I can maybe get into it for a decent price since I will be trying to trade for it.
I'm not out to rip him off or insult him with some ridiculous lowball offer and I'm not trying to start some online auction either. If anyones interested PM me an offer.
If this needs moved to the classifieds please move it but its not mine to sell as of yet!
LOGANSTANFORTH 12-16-2010, 06:41 AM 60 front, 80 rear, 4 speed and a 440 stroked to around 512 cubes...Sled puller...
fcfred 12-16-2010, 12:40 PM post it for sale here

BumpyDodge 12-16-2010, 02:29 PM The Air Force and the Navy used them a lot in the 60's-70's. Many were given to local govt municipalities after being "retired" from Federal service. Since it has "Air force blue" paint under the red, my guess would be it's most likely an old Air Force truck.
Probably just a registration error but shouldn't it be a W200? a "D" truck is 2wd.
Maybe put in Power Wagon Advertiser's classifieds and see if you get any interest?
3shadesofblack 12-17-2010, 09:58 AM Thats a cool truck for shure. As for price im picking up a 69 w300 standard cab factory winch truck with a flat bed for 1500. No rust been in sothern nevada all its life came off the af base. It has 20 somthing thousand miles. but it dosent run (been sitting 20 years) but has a later model 60f and 70 drw swaped into it. Its getting my 92 w250 ctd swaped into it.But a ok crewcab id say is worth 1200-2000, depending on rust and all.
locust1313 12-26-2010, 04:53 AM I love the ugliness of Dodge, its beautiful to me
1987 w150 Power Ram 4x4
1977 M880 4x4
1977 Military Crewcab 4x4
1986 D100
1986 Ramcharger 4x4
I'm kinda die hard though, I'd like some boots with super swamper tread on em
Ayers Garage 12-26-2010, 06:14 AM I'd sure like to have that truck if it were in my part of the country. I've been looking for something older that needs a Cummins swap around here for awhile.
I've got the donor already sitting by my shop. D60/ D70, NP205, Cummins and all.

That is Too funny!! I built that truck! :) :)
That truck was originally a low mile D300 with an 8' Utiline bed.
The movie folks bought it off me & made me include the 6' sweptline bed & they shortened the frame & blew the truck up in the series "Bionic Woman" that came back out a few years back. All that "rust" is fake! Painted on :)
I bought it back when the series got cancelled & installed the Dana 60 up front & the Michelin xzl's.
Who owns it now?
I still have the original 8' Utiline bed.
Marty
