i rode a 2002 520 exc yesterday, and it is a very good mc. it steers well but with a lack of feel to it. the suspension is sweet and the motor is kick ass smooth. my 96 kx 250 will run right with it until the ktm gets to shift to 6th gear, but the exc is choked down and jetted lean so as to be green sticker legal. a different pipe and jetting and it would easily outpull my kx. the bimbo brakes are strong and have good feel to them also. and you cant beat the electric start for laziness

My friend has one here in Utah. I don't know if the emissions are the same as California, but I was very impressed with it. If I had $$ to buy any new bike, the 520 would be in my garage FAST!

I've just bought a 2001 ktm 520 exc, and it's great but it rattles, is that normal?
