So if it's a D50 any from 80-86 will bolt in prob the later ones as well but I'm not 100% sure So are talking the whole TTB or 3rd member?? Eather way you should be able to just swap them out. For 1980 the Dana 50 only came in a F350. No F250's ever got a Dana 50. I think is true for 80-86 but only have documentation to 1980. wes8517 10-14-2002, 06:12 PM ok, the dana 44 H/D ttb came in all f-250s except the ones with a heavy duty tag on them, they had the dana 50, as far as i know, the f-350s from 80 to 86 had the dana 50, but i am not sure on this, noone wants these model trucks, so i stay way away! wes Dustball 10-16-2002, 07:18 PM 1980-1996 F-250 and 1980-1985 F-350's can have either the TTB D44HD or the TTB D50. Front rating D44HD = 3800 lbs D50 = 4600 lbs Look at the door tag for the weight rating. If you're looking at just the axle, no other info available- D44HD will have internal snap rings on the axle shaft u-joints and the D50 will have external snap rings as well as D60 size hub lockouts. As for what year axle shaft will swap, I think it's only 1980-1982 that has the bolt-in stub shaft you have. If you want to swap to the slide-in style with the c-clip, you'll have to swap the third member out for a newer one.
