1. What are the differences in clearence on a Mog, Deuce, and D60 axle??

2. What are the diff offsets on Mog axles and on Rockwell Deuces? (distance and direction)

3. How much can a mog axle handle?? I hear they are stronger than a D80?

4. How hard are each of these to convert to rear steer?

5. What are brake and Bolt pattern options and pricing for Mog and Deuces?

yup...

OK, dude, the short, short version:

If you like to build stuff and spend $$$ get mogs; If you like cheap, easy, and beef, get rockwells; and if you like to fit in, get 60's!!:flipoff2:

elf, that is way too long an explanation.

I know, but he's from Texas, even worse, he's from Temple. I used to live in Waco, not too far from temple, and I know that he has NO FAWKING PRAYER of finding any info on this shit, other than from this forum.

so, call me sympathetic...

Hey are people supposed to take this :flipoff2: personally or what? Ayway like I said I took previous advise and did search, I already have Dana 60's. Want to make sure that the 60's are what I want before I totally finish the swap! Would just like to say that I now know why I have heard bad things about this forum.

Wow, someone sounds upset! If you look at my member number it beats everyone but Elf Cruiser I just dont always have time to come here and post. What I have heard is that there are a lot of people here that think "hardcore" is the only way and that if you are worried about streetability at all you are a poser. I took his advise about the search, I just thought up some questions and didnt think about trying to search, I didnt think it was such a big deal. But know notice :crybaby2: . I dont think anyone here was somehow born with all the knowledge of 4 WheelDrive vehicles, so just chill out a little, have a  and RELAX!!!!!!!!

Ok, fine I'll try but everyone is right if you search a little while you'll find everything I will mention. I found most infor at http://www.exaxt.ca/ and http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44754&highlight=clearance+rockwell

Clearance of a MOG is ~6" over a std Dana60, a Rockwell in stick form I would guess is slightly less than a Dana60, but shaving can be done to get better clearance. See http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83151&highlight=clearance+rockwell

2. What are the diff offsets on Mog axles and on Rockwell Deuces? (distance and direction)

MOG axles the pinions are offset 3.75" from center to the driver side on front axles, 3.75 to pass on rear in stock form. Rockwells pinions are offset ~11" from center to the passengerside.

3. How much can a mog axle handle?? I hear they are stronger than a D80?

The axles are strong because the majority of the torque is at the portals. They are 8 spline axles that are larger than a Dana 70 rear axle.

4. How hard are each of these to convert to rear steer?

Easy, just put a steer axle in the rear and add hydro. Some additional mods necessary, but not difficult

5. What are brake and Bolt pattern options and pricing for Mog and Deuces?

8 bolt hubs are avaliable for the MOG, prices vary but expensive. I am not aware of different hubs available for the Rockwells

There ya go, now quit being a baller and use the search. :flipoff2:

I don't have a "site" just a collection of pictures. Yes, I own a dog, a cat, a rabbit, and currently 5 fish. I, like others, am fond of animals. Poor 350 Samuri can't take a little ribbing, must be 16 or something. I actually have 3 roommates, 2 of whom wheel and are on this board. Hard to foot 1160 bucks a month in college all by yourself. My truck doesn't have IFS (hint: look in the SAS folder 350), but it does have my name on the title. Just to clear that up...

Peace,
Dave

Are you trying to say that Temple is a better place to live than Scottsdale?? hmmmm...

I moved here 3 mths ago, and I hate it already. I mean, I'm surrounded by pornstar-looking chicks, and hardcore rockcrawling trails, as well as actual PUBLIC LAND, life sucks!

p.s. being 3 hrs from the Grand Canyon really pisses me off too!

So this makes you cool? Where ever you live and whatever you do with your rig, who gives a s**t, just have fun. I think it is a little retarded, usually people who have knowledge like to share it. I did several searches and didnt get much of the info I was needing. I always thought the idea of a board like this is to ask a question if you have one, I realize yall might get the same questions a lot but lighten up! If you dont wanna respond AGAIN to the same old question shut up!!!!!!! (or just point me in the right direct like yall did) :flipoff2:

So has anyone ever heard of a portal axle spreading apart after a hard landing? I already did some searches with nothing mentioned.........
