this is my first build i have done. the trucks a 88 toyota pickup and im mocking up a f150 leaf spring swap out back and i have all the mounts tacked in and need some opinions on my shackle angle before i weld everything solid. this truck is a trail only tuck. so here's a pic i have about 300lb of weight on it to simulate a small bed and spare tire.

and here's one with just a bare housing hanging at droop.

i posted this in the newbie cause the Toyota forum would have ripped me a new one for asking.

Get an angle finder and check it.

I like to run a 30-35* angle with the trucks weight, and about 5-7* angle forward at full droop.

Looks like it will have alot of axle wrap. Shackle angle looks good.

if the axle wrap becomes a problem ill make up a traction bar. just need to do my research into how i want it. the sas is going to be starting next week some time.

X2 on the Axel wrap.... I was going to "see how it goes"
and a new set of leaves later it's easier to build it before you break it!

ok need some more advice from you guys i did some playing in the yard and the shackle mounts have poly bushings in them and they are really stiff. is there a war to soften them up. i read some were that you can drill a series of small holes in the extra poly and will help it flex better. this will be done till i get some joints from ballistic fab.

How long do you want the bushings to last?

I wouldnt drill into them, but then again, their not my bushings, and its not my truck.
