I was wondering how good weld on beadlocks are on the street? I have a set of H2 wheels now and i want to sell them and get steel wheels, So i can weld my own beadlocks on. Is it worth it?$$$

i'm sure you could have asked in the appropriate forum section but anyway, beadlocks are not street legal (hummer beadlock wheels are DOT approved however) and weld on beadlocks are definatly not street legal, though none of us on here can tell you what you can and cannot do, use at your own risk.

copperhead has some good weld on beadlocks. I have them and would do it all over agin i love them. But why do you need bealocks on something you are going to drive on the road. If your tires are any count you will want to keep them off the road and on the trails. If you have to drive it on the road still get another set of wheels and tires for dd, or thats what i done back in the day.

we sell weld on bead- locks at our shop kings off-road(KORE) but they r not designed for street use. another reason not to use on the street would be they would be almost impossible to balance.

Wrong. Beadlocks are by no means "Illegal". They are just not DOT approved. When was the last time you heard of someone being ticketed for beadlocks specifically??? Never.

But why do you need bealocks on something you are going to drive on the road.

Exactly. BUT something would lead me to believe this clown wants them because they look cool. Escpecially seeing's how he runs H2 Alums now. I could be wrong though.

Nate, I think you jumped the gun a little early here. He wasn't specifically asking what locks to get for H2's, but rather he wants to switch out for steels and THEN get locks.

My opinion on the matter.....learn how to use a search engine fuck stain. And read the goddam mission statement at the top of the cherokee forum! Putting 2 and 2 together tells me you should beadlock some donuts. Punch yourself in the cock 11 times, drink 3 oucnes of bleach and commense deepthroating my shotgun. :mad3:

Moved to newbie Gen Section.

Id turn the H2 Aluminum wheels into beadlocks. Send them out or find a shop that can do it for you.

The useless comment was to me, cool your jets bud.. i was being a cock sucker to him and misunderstood his question..

the way IIIII understood it was that you wanted to buy any ol' weld on beadlock kit assuming you could weld them to H2 wheels (of which are cast aluminum) which mas the same molecular properties of billet and forged aluminum

Not saying that it cant/hasn't been done, however in this application, welding a ring to outer edge of an aluminum wheel would substantially weaken it..

you're much better off running Staun's

Hey cock smuggler, I think he was answering the original question, which was about beadlocking steel wheels. Regardless, it's a stupid fucking idea for a street driven rig, if you want beadlocks on the street re-center some Humvee wheels or buy Stauns.

Once you get your steel wheels like you said your going to.... no one else seems to read that... I would just weld rod around the safety bead on inside and outside of wheel. Its a bitch to get tires on and off but my brothers worked better than bead-locks my friend with bead-locks burbs air out of inner bead. His are on 16.5" so there is no safety bead to begin with but i think you could use 1/8 rod and have same affect on any wheels. And is was only $20 of rod and an afternoon of welding.
