: SX's flat spot something nasty.

I'm running grooved 36" SX's. If I run down the highway for a bit so they get nice and warm, when I park for awhile (overnight) they will flat spot pretty nasty. I get beat up pretty good for the first 8-10miles until they even out again.

Is this normal? It's not a big deal, I've just never had a tire that would flat spot that quickly or sevearly.

Thanks

Bias ply tires do that...get used to it.;)

same with big boggers mine feel like they are square for the first 10 minutes of the drive. I don't remember my 36 TSLs being near as bad.

Only way to remedy it is to jack it up and night and put it on stands/blocks to keep tires off the ground:flipoff2: .

I have 38.5 swampers and I notice a flatspot after being parked in the parkinglot at work for 8 hours. it's a SWAMPER! get used to it!

Here's a trick that seems to help. 15-20 minutes before you leave in the rig, roll the rig about 1/4-1/2 a wheel turn. It seemed to help, but maybe it was all in my head. Still wasn't smooth...but seemed more smooth.

As long as your in a place that doesn't get cold....

I have 36 SXs.. I run about 20psi n them, flat spots aren't too bad with that much air.

BUT, in the cold of winter, the flat spots NEVER go away at freeway pressure. For me, that was a 20 mile drive, some of it actually getting to go 60mph.

yup,,and even more so for sx's cause of the steel belts under the tread

As long as your in a place that doesn't get cold....

Yea that way you have it already waiting for some fawking thief to just remove the lugs and drive off with em, even if they have a locking nut they have a tool to pop em off....:flipoff2:

I figured as much. Not a big deal. It's my first set of Interco tires and I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to batty or anything. I thought maybe the grooving had something to do with it but it doesn't sound like it.

Ben - No Thanks... I like my tires....:D

Do any of you know how a flat towed rig will act during that first 10-20 miles while the tire gets back into round? I'd hate to have that thing jumping all over the place at the beginning of the trip

:D Yes he did, but I'm not sure if it was due to flat spots in the
swampers. Didn't detour him from his initial plan of a fun weekend
of wheelin' tho.;)

You guys experience this with radial versions also?

Flat spots sh##! It was -20 degrees this morning. My 35" BFG's even at 30 psi - were square!!!

Hell of a lot of fun rolling those down the street!

I can't image what a bias ply would have been like this morning :D

Seriously though - Your running SX's deal with it :flipoff2:

Not trying to do the one upmanship thing, but seriously....during the -20* F temps in the middle of winter here, my 33" TSLs only took about 3/4's of a mile to return to round.

I don't get the 10 miles thing......could it be the size difference.
