I have been searching for how to change a truck to an RV, is it as simple as a body change form?
I am looking at getting a 26' uhaul box truck with GVWR of 18200, I would like to make it an RV and register it as such, how does one accomplish this?
The other uhaul toter home builds look to be in other states.
So any one do this?

My buddy in coarsegold did it. Not terribly hard. Check out expeditionportal.com. I think they have a list over there of requirement by state.

It has to have some permanant fixtures, but I forget what all the options are and how many you need..

I think you need 3 of 4 or something, and they have to be permanant

I've heard that this is impossible these days in Cali. I wanted to do it to a Volvo 600series and apparently they've closed the loophole allowing you to avoid registering commercial trucks as a commercial vehicle. Wish I could find a way around it. If you find a way and it works, let me know, and let me know the names of who you talked to at the DMV so I can go through the same people.

I just registered there, but I cant find those requirements?
I asked one guy that recently built a new fuso into a motor home but he may have had the dealer reg it as a motor home. I hope its easy....
