i've done alot of research on building this ford dana 44. i'm not going to use a high steer set up, so i am keeping the ford knuckles. i can't seem to find why everyone runs chevy calipers... is there a specific reason not to use the ford calipers? i planned on keeping everything all stock ford, is there a better way??
Chevy calipers are better than ford. Thats the only reason I can think of.

i have to replace everything anyways, i'm assuming fullsize ford truck brakes will be better then the dinky dana 30 brakes..... any other opinions on this? i searched..... didn't really find any specific reasons why not to use ford calipers unless your doing a high steer. if the chevy's are better, are they that much better that it's worth running them??? thanks again :smokin: :

People use the chev stuff because the Caliper backing pltes are a direct bolt on fot the Jeep Dana 44 an 30 axles. You got a Ford 44 use the Ford stuff. JMO

The Ford stuff is fine, I just don't like the :rainbow: wedge style caliper mount, I like bolts, bolts are good, bolts are my friends.

yea, i thought they where kind of funky also, but hopefully i won't be taking them apart that often.... if they are away more expensive then chevy's, i might reconsider.

I think the expense is about the same, and I take mine off a lot, hope fully CTM's will solve that problem. I just like the Chevy style because I can have it apart quickly, one of my buddies loves his Ford stuff because he can have that apart in minutes, just a matter of preference, I like my Jeep black, he likes his blue.....
