Hey there,

Looking at buying some local 9" axles but wanted to know how much cost would be involved in upgrading them.
I am looking for a really accurate breakdown as I am based in Australia and it is a hell of a lot harder to get parts down here!

Front: High pinion, 31 spline, trussed, 4.56 gears, ARB Locker, CTM Uni's, D60 knuckles, super heavy duty inverted "T" steering.

Rear: Low pinion, nodular iron carrier, alloy pinion support, 35 spline, 4.56 gears, ARB Locker, ford explorer disc brakes

Would prefer 35 spline front end with CTM's.
What would the parts breakdown work out to in the end?

- Third member
- Locker
- gears
- inner and outer shafts
- CTM's
- Hubs/drive flanges?

Also, wondering if it is possible to change the rear to high pinion and the parts involved?

cheers

You seem to have covered the front pretty well - just remember the currie high pinion uses reverse-cut ford 8.8 gearsets, and you need a master install kit.

For the rear, its as simple as calling currie or true hi9 - you won't be able to use the 31spl case in the rear because 35spl uses the big bearing case.

If he uses the Currie HP third member or a true HI 9 with the ARB 35 spline locker, the only bearings he has to address is the axle end bearings...
