: Meeting with the USFS on April 16
Alabamatoy 04-06-2010, 05:28 PM As of now, I am planning to attend the USFS public planning meeting (http://www.sfwda.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=367)in Atlanta on April 16. My question to this austere group is: What T-Shirt should I wear? What is the most offensive, attention getting thing (beyond not wearing anything at all, I dont want to get arrested) that I could wear? I want to make myself a public billboard stating SCREW USFS, YOU HAVE STOLEN WHATS MINE AND MY CHILDREN'S or something to that effect.
Suggestions? I got a week to prepare. I want an unforgettable Tshirt.

godevil 04-06-2010, 10:24 PM I appriciate that you can make the meeting.
I can guarantee that a well dressed well spoken oppoisition to their views will be harder to dismiss than the 4 wheel guy in the rude t shirt.
When you tell them to GO F*UCK A BLENDER FULL OF RUSTY NAILS, you may get better results by suggesting that they puree their genitalia wilst fornicating a mixer overflowing with oxidized fasteners.
Don't make the way you chose to dress or the words that you choose to speak a weapon for your enemy to use against you, or in this case us.
Thanks for going for all of us that can't.
Kick Ass, civilly.

Interesting. DRM told me essentially the same thing - try to make friends, not enemies. Maybe I gotta rethink this. I just don't know.....

You should. I would go in my Sunday suit.

BigGreenMonster 04-07-2010, 01:53 PM ...Maybe I gotta think.
fixed it for ya.
250f4life 04-07-2010, 02:25 PM If I was gonna get a shirt made I would not make it offensive. They already think were dumb hicks from back in the woods. Well maybe some of us are but anyways.
I would let it make a statement. Maybe get something like "Murphy's employee rate pre-closure and post-closure".
BigGreenMonster 04-07-2010, 02:42 PM get some shirts made for a fundraiser... similar to the stickers. i have had more calls about the stickers on the back of my truck than for my business. i would suggest not wearing them to the meeting tho. if you wanted to make a point with them it would be better used at a protest outside the meeting.

excellent point. if you go in there looking like a complete dumbass hillbilly then that will support their stereotype of us and nothing will be accomplished. I recently went to a public hearing and it was amazing to see how much damage one person can do to an organization when they look and act like a moron. It totally discredits anything that has been said before that time. I'm sure this was just a joke.
clemsonjeep 04-08-2010, 07:33 AM please dress to impress...i work with the sc version of the same outfit...youll may get more attention wearing the t shirt of your choice, but youll get the attention you want wearing your sunday suit...my 2 cents
godevil 04-21-2010, 01:03 PM Alabamatoy,
Were you able to make the meeting?
I am curious if Tellico was even mentioned and what the proposed "mixed" use they have for it in the future.
I also wonder what future ramifications the spillover of use will mean for Uwharrie.
Any info?
