Stock springs /w a big ass block and an AAL right now in the rear, but thats just temp till I get my 63" chebys. Also has a 3" body which I will be taking out shortly.

THe springs hangers you can pretty much see in that pic /w smart ass in it, they are welded and bolted to the frame. The steering box you can kind of see in that same pics, its sitting on top of the frame rail on the outside, with some 1/4" plate on both sides of the frame as well.. and it was angled up slightly.

I think I spent a little over 2k on the front but then still had to buy the tires and also spend 500 to do the rear.

I can see some detail by brightening the pic up some, I was just curious if you had close-ups of it.

No, that crack is not supposed to be there :( .. that happened last night, im gonna get a brand new one from Napa tommorow though.. tired of the PNP crap breaking on me. Only thing you can't see is ther three bolts that hold it on, we just welded 1/4" plate to both sides and the top of the frame rail and then ran the three bolts thru that and the frame rail.

As for the spring hangers they are pretty generic, I mean there isn't really any detail to see, just some 1/4 plate with two holes drilled for a bolt to go thru and the bolt goes thru the eye.

I was just curious how you did it.
If I ever end up with a '98up, that gives me some idea of whats involved in making it offroadable.

The steering box is mainly what I was interested in.

Is that cracked top related to the issue you had before with the endcaps blowing out? Are the tierods from a wagoneer, also?

I have no idea what caused it.. Im thinking its probably because it was a junkyard box and I didnt rebuild it, but I just picked up a remanufactured box with a lifetime warranty from napa for 190$..... 140$ core though so im actually glad I have this crap box to give them so I dont have to pay the core.

Looks good man. Did you run a trac-bar? Are you still running the stock steering? ie: tie rod, drag link?

and above he states the ps box is from a 78 IH Scout...

i was wondering if you could give me an estimate of the whole swaps cost! includnig full steering, fabrication, springs, axle, everything, how much do y think it was? and i dont want some stupid amount cause smartass' fab work is worth a lot! i, and probably others, want a real life estimate!

So far I have spent $3265 on parts that includes everything from labor (for gears), nuts, bolts, metal, welding rod, cutting blades, tires, etc.

For fab work I think iv prolly spend about 100$ on pizza and beer, and gave smart ass 200$ off rent one month.. very good deal for me :D

But you also have to consider the money you get from selling your old parts.. I got 250 for my tires and 75 for my CVs. Was hoping to get something for the d35 and steering but will probably end up junking it. Im giving the 8.8 to smart ass in exchange for some chevy springs and to pay him back for some of the labor but you can prolly sell it for ~300$.

Still have to get high steer though, the steering angles right now are too extreme and im getting a lot of bumpsteer..im estimateing that will prolly cost another 800$ or so, im having it done professionaly though because 1. I dont have the tools, and 2. im getting tired of working on my truck.

So all in all I think I will probably end up spending close to 4K. You can do it for less though, I'd say it could probably be done for 2500 if you go with cheaper components.. i.e d30 and leave the stock rear end and if the gears match that would take off a grand right there. Then go with junkyard springs and ranchos instead of 44044s and bilsteins and you save a couple hundred dollars there.

How about your R.T.I. numbers? Before and after would be nice...
