They are getting harder and harder to find... People try to sell them for $500.00 all the time though. Try www.ebay.com!!!

Just go searching for an 1980 Scout all rusted out in someones field and offer then less than $500.00 for the whole darn thing. It is usually a heck of a lot cheaper to buy a whole scout than a dana 300 t-case.

This has also been covered a jillion times... but just because it's a 1980 doesn't mean it has a 300 in it. You have to LOOK at the frickin' t-case to make sure.

SII Dana 300's are rare to begin with, and highly sought after. (Not sure why, seems to be something people caught from the Jeep folks. I personally think a D-20 with a Terra Low kit is just as good if not better)

Either way, short supply + irrationally high demand = higher cost than its worth.

I have seen them go for as mush as $1000 rebuilt and as low as $300, they are pretty rare, and TORC is right just becouse its an 1980 doesn't mean it has a 300 in it or ever did, i have owned 4 1980's and only 2 have had 300's and the ones that had the 300 where had a build date of early1980 not late 79 like the other 2

It's almost always cheaper to buy a whole "rusted out" Scout than to buy any hard-to-find parts for them.
