: what's involved with "grooving" tires?

for not being a newbie anymore, that's a pretty newbie post.

The answer is simple: you buy a tire groover, and start cutting.

there someone on this board that did it with a grinder once too.. even though he had my grooving iron at the time. I wouldnt recommend it, I heard it was a mess :D

Seen it done with a chainsaw once, wouldn't recommend it, but it did get some very good traction out of some old Military tires.
