Bought that g-waggy i posted about for only $1180 and the guy said it had a ford 360 in it. How can i tell the difference on the ford motor vs. the AMC?

The AMC 360 has "360" stamped onto the block underneath the exhaust manifold. Chances are it is an AMC 360. All AMC motors of recent vintages have the size stamped on the block in that location. You may have to scrap off some crud to see the #.:)

He probably saw the Ford Duraspark II ignition, the Motorcraft 2bbl carb and the front-mounted distributor and figured it was a Ford.

If the distributor is tilted toward the driver's-side, it's an AMC.
