So we camped out at the bottom of course 4 saturday night after everyone had gone home.

I was sleeping on the ground on a tarp and sleeping bag until about 8am when i got awoken to the sound of a YZ490 blasting around.

Started crawling out of my bag to get dressed when all of a sudden there was a local sherrifs officer standing there. so we BS a bit and he split.

After packing up camp we head out and the sherrif and a BLM officer are standing at the base of course 6 taking pictures, I'm thinkng "uh-oh.... BLM is pissed.. so much for these rocks too.":(

So i stop to talk to the guys. Turns out that both were VERY impressed with how well EVERYONE acted/left the land/treated the area.

Now we are talking about (from what they said) 4000 people on friday, and 14000:eek: on saturday. Both the sherrif and the BLM officer said that they have more problems out there on a regular weekend than they saw there @ supercrawl.

The area was damn clean when we pulled out on sunday morning, i'd say that 98% of the trash was in the dumpster, and i made a point to walk around a pick some stuff up as we were walking away from the officers. They had a smile on their face.

Just wanted to let everyone know that its seems as though it was a hit with the BLM.

Nate.

Craig puts on a top-notch event. Just about EVERYBODY that had a chance at the mic at the award ceremony(including Tracy Jordan, Moose, Walker, etc...) went on and on about how this was the best event they had ever been to, and how a lot of people had a lot to learn from it. Craig is just in it for fun, and it makes all the difference.

That's really great to hear, Nate.
Crawling comps are an economic boon to our area and great outdoor entertainment for many. 14,000 spectators. Wow!

There have been some really bad after-event reports from previous crawling comps and I for one am tickled to hear a good one, especially since Super Crawl was such a HUGE record breaker.

The one thing that I did see that made a big difference was there were crews empting trash containers all DURING the event instead of waiting until the end of the day when by then, there there had been mounds of refuse piled out and along side the already full recpiticles.

Most spectators did their part also as I noticed that if there wasn't a waste container in a particular high traffic area (there are never enough) then empty cans, etc., were cached in small piles in easily accessable areas that were sheltered from the wind.

Good Job, UROC!
You will be welcomed back while we locals would prefer past offenders go trash and maim some place else ... like yer own back yards. :D
