Has any one had a problem with the forest service giving citations for noise, where you ride? the only place around here I've heard of any problems is at the Oregon dunes.

I've heard rummors that state parks could start sound testing..... More than likely only as a way to collect more $$ or as a eco-freak way to close areas

It takes a really LOUD bike to fail the test though...

i keep mine quiet. fmf spark arrestor silencer passes 96 db and when i really want to be quiet i put on my acerbis 035. i can sneak up on people with that one.

Oregon's state wide noise level is 99 db, but at the dunes it's 93 db and they want to make it lower. Just for referance, a shop vac can be over a 100 db's

thats a dumb rule because i can be really quiet if im just putting around but if im on the powerband on a hill its loud. i havent been harassed at carnegie yet so i guess its selective places. carnegies not around anywhere

I'll second that about carnegie.... I was there like 12yrs ago and that place across the street had stuff exploding all day long

Another thing about that place...
On the road driving to Carnegie just as you "drop down" into the valley, did you ever notice that van at the bottom of the hill that rolled all the way down the hill??

Really in the middle of no-were's-ville

yeah that place across the street is a police firing range i think. and you must have not been that way in a while cuz that van is gone and they bulldozed that part of the valley and put in trees and stuff. although if you go down the road look for a new section of gaurdrail around a right hand turn.then when you see it from the other side, you see two tire tracks skidding down the hill. didnt see a car at the bottom cuz you cant see the bottom unless you get out.
