So i just came across a deal on a wrecked '01 f350, its a 7.3, 4wd, single rear wheel. Would be perfect for a drive train swap into my '97 GMC k1500 4x4, ive been looking for a set of tons to sas my truck but came across this, i think i could get much better mileage out of it with the 7.3, go faster, pull more and turn the 37's ive got(humvee wheels and tires for now) i want to sas with no lift and i dont know how much oilpan clearance the 7.3 will give me but im willing to try. Ill likely skip mechanical steering and run a decent full hydro setup, i know some say its not safe for the street but i have faith, ill also be boxing/bracing the frame since its just a half ton.
Im wondering if i can recoup some of the cost by selling my vortec 350, 4l60e and np241?(its a manual tcase truck) should i try to sell together? its a decent buggy setup, all original never had problems and only has 109k, what is it realistically worth?
Also, i dont have the ifs out of my truck yet and i havnt done much research on this but im wondering if it would be possible to run two drivers side shafts in the ifs pumpkin from one of these trucks? i would like to build an ifs micro buggy and that would be perfect.
