Hello, after buying a 2wd 1993 Cummins with a blown up frontend (cheaper to make it 4x4 then replace all the parts) I want to put a road ranger 10speed with a divorced np205 and either rockwells or f106s, will the 205 handle the torque with a jacked up cummins and that deep of gearing?

What is the lowest gear in the Road Ranger? You only need to worry about torque going in to the 205. NP241's live behind Cummins diesels with over 1000 ft lbs of torque on a dyno and they are aluminum and chain driven. My guess is your OK.

A divorced Dodge NP205 is 32 spline input and outputs, so it's pretty beefy. The NP205 was the transfer case used in '89-'93 Cummins Dodge trucks, usually a mated 23 spline in automatic equipped trucks and a 29 spline in diesel manual transmission trucks. Just make sure the NP205 is mounted correctly and that you have a nice beefy intermediate shaft with big joints and a slip spline.

...and a slip spline.
This is the part alot of people don't realize.

Was just wandering if the 205 would have been the weak link in the setup, but I think the duece and a halfs and even 5 tons use divorced t cases? So I guess I will be ok. Only other question I have that I cannot find much information on is what is the lowest ratio that f106s come with? Im trying to basically run all semi truck equipment, axles, trans, and actually the tires to (around 40" load g rating) I know they have 4.90? for top loaders now but I don't think the high 3rd member will work and the f106 and fds75 already come with disk brakes and face loading with the ten lug style hub....

you wont have anything to worry about with it being divorced but with all the stuff you are going on about it is going to be the weak like.
its not weak, its weak by comparison.

Agreed, there is nothing wrong with a divorced transfer case as even a lot of today's heavy duty trucks with drive front axles still use them but I think any NP205 will be overmatched by what you are messing with. Why not use a Rockwell case from a M35 or 800 series 5 ton? It would at least match the rest of the components.

Are those airshift and 2 speed? Only reason the 205 came up first is because I have one but I would imagine the rockwell ones are cheap from the people who part them out for the axles?

They might be cheap, it depends on which ones. The 5 ton and some 2.5 ton are sprague automatic transfer cases and some of the M35s are air shift. I'm pretty sure that they are all 2 speed. The air shift models are highly desired by those who have a M35 with the sprague models so they can be pricey at times. If you would get one cheap it would be from someone who picked up a M35 cheap to build a crawler or mud buggy and doesn't actually know what military parts are worth.
