A little backround:

My air compressor in located in my shed which is set 16 feet away from my shop. There is a 14 foot run of copper in the shed before it goes 1 foot under ground (underground run is 16ft to the shed to shop). There is then another 8 foot run in the shop which then I have the line dump into a 20 gallon "knockout" tank which has a ball valve to drain water out the bottom. The "knockout" tank feeds the shop.

My question, with over 40 feet of 3/4 inch copper will an air dryer be needed, especailly with a 16ft run underground? I live in the midwest so it does get pretty humid at times and I will be running a plasma and sandblaster

Thoughts??

do you have a drain on the lowes point of that tube? i would guess no due to it going under ground.
i get the most water out of my compressor when i run a maze of copper pipe after the pump and before the tank. i get almost nothing out of the bottom of the tank.
