Wow, that is a loaded question. The roads (pavement) should be just fine. Are you takin the rig, doin any 4wheelin? In Durango if you have time ride the train to Silverton. Also in Silverton there is a mine tour that is really cool. In Ouray there is the hot springs and tons of neat shops along the main road. Telluride is a cool town to just walk around. Lots of mining history, and there is a couple cool rock shops if your into that kinda thing. I know of one in Durango and one in Ouray. If you are going wheelin make sure and do Black Bear Pass. You'll thank me later.

Black bear ain't gonna be open this early, no trails are more than likely, not up in CO.

It will be cold up there so dress accordingly. The roads should be clear but there is still alot of snow up there.

Spring weather can be fun it can be in the 70's one day and you can get three feet of snow the next:D Just check the Colorado road site before you head into the mountains. http://www.cotrip.org/roadConditions.htm

I should have clarified. This is just a family vacation, riding in a rented Yukon or something of the sort. I appreciate all the advice so far. The plan is if weather is too bad, just head to Arches N.P. and enjoy the sunshine.

Balmy and sunny here in Montrose, CO for the last week or so. Still snow on the ground up high, but the roads are fine. By the time you get here low country precip will probably be rain. You could still see snow in the high country between Ouray and DGO, but it won't last long on the pavement.
