My Jeep has a Dana 300 and I need to know if I should run a standard or CV driveshaft in the rear. I have yokes for both. The rear is stretched so the driveshaft would need to be ~35" at static height. What are the advantages/disadvantages to CV driveshafts in the REAR?

Rig specs are: TJ with 350/350/300, 44 front, 14 bolt rear, leafs all around

is this a dd or strickly trail? If it's trail, I'd say make a square driveshaft. If it's a dd I'd say standard. CV shafts are junk all the way around.

This will be 95% trail. In my area thats muddy hills, deep ruts, water crossings, and no large rocks. Even with a square shaft I would have to decide on a yoke. Why do you consider CV shafts to be junk?

You only need CV shafts if the operating angles of a single joint shaft are greater than their limit.

It all depends on angles and vibration.
