Should I get a bike?

I grew up on a 250R. When I was 13 I swapped in a CR500 motor. I was fine for a while but I got dumb on it and started doing wheelies and bicycling it, and all sorts of other stupid stuff. One day I was doing A wheelie down the road in 4th gear and smacked a telephone pole. That pretty much totaled the bike and fucked up my back. Question is should I get a street bike or should I not for fear that I will get stupid on one? I have rode quite a few different bikes. I like the Suzuki 650 quite a bit. But then again I think about the fact that there is a slight posibility I would get dumb on it. Do bikes hold their value when it comes to selling it?

If u are going to ride like a idiot stay on the dirt, as far as holding value that depends on what u buy, and i wouldn't own a suzuki...just my 2 cents

or forget about the washer on the airfilter(dirtbike)and it gets sucked in to the cylinder and fawks it up and it seized while your hillclimbing and you get bucked over the bars <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0"> this happened to my friend but we got 350 for the fawked up engine.the guy knew what happened and he still wanted it <IMG SRC="smilies/laughing.gif" border="0"> oh well he got a NEW bike outa it <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Only you truly know what you're capable of doing. It also depends on what kind of people you would be riding with, though. Whenever I rode by myself I was USUALLY pretty conservative, but get 5 or 10 of us together and we could get pretty crazy. I stick to the dirt now and I'm enjoying it way more. There's a lot less to worry about (cops, insurance, other drivers, asphalt, fragile plastic) and you can still get just as crazy. I would say the only downside is that a lot of dirtbikes (2 stroke definitely) are way higher maintenance then street bikes, but it's all in good fun.
