The 80 is my wifes daily driver. I have a 34' diesel pusher motorhome I would like to tow it with, on non fourwheeling trips. Has anyone tried this?
Thanks, Dan

IIRC its a big no-no.... Unless you get some fancy driveshaft disconnects -or go low tech and pull them every time....

Has anyone installed locking hubs front or rear on a 80??? It does have a full float rear. Might not be that hard. I have a machine shop at work and these guys love to tackle these kind of things.

The hubs will fit, but the transfer case if full time.

One guy around here installed a V8 in his with a FJ-60 transfer case to get a lock-out front...

manual hubs would be the bestway to go, since only the wheels and hubs would be spinning.

79 - 85 mini truck hubs will bolt on the front.... The rear has a one peice flanged axle shaft, you could remove the shafts, 6 nuts per side, and use your old front hubs to cap the bearings for towing.... and maybe plug the axle shaft hole with something to keep the gear lube in there.

You COULD...but what happens when you go over that bump, don't go back to check on everything, and it's popped into gear? Ugly, ugly sight
