helmet's a given.....but do you always wear the like full leather pants, jacket, riding boots, and gloves? Just curious. I don't own a streetbike (even though I'd love to have one), but it seems like a pain in the butt that you have to change whenever you get somewhere. If I had one I'd probably wear all the leather I could, I wouldn't want to eat it on the asphalt weating a t-shirt or something.

I have to admit I was dumb and would often ride with no shirt at all
I did always wear gloves, though.

road race boots, gloves, leather pants and a really cool mesh jacket with hard armour and a back protector, for the hot days of summer in the twisties!! and a helmet of course!

2 weeks ago i hit a deer doing sixty on my 600 fzr. let me put it this way. i have a thrashed bike, thrashed helmet, thrashed gloves, thrashed shorts and tee. hanging in my closet is a $350 kevlar, armoured jacket in perfect condition. i broke my shoulder blade and have road rash aplenty. if i was wearing jeans and that jacket i would of been fine.
i never thought in a million years that i would hit pavement at high speeds practicly naked, but even more so i never thought that bambi would be the one to take me out. wear em if ya got em.

Yotaguy and the rest of you,
That is exactly why regardless of how hot or even how short the ride I put on the fully armored leather jacket, at the least jeans, carbon enforced gloves, track boots and helmet. Well worth it considering the possible consequences.

Your head may be the most obvious external organ, but your skin is your largest organ! I have always felt that road rash is what you need to avoid the most. I wear full leather, regardless of the weather. It isn't always comfortable, but it does inspire confidence. You will be surprised at how far you can slide and then stand up and walk back, if you are properly dressed.
