running YJs... is there another spring out there about the same length and arch, but with a more offset center pin?

So it seems the toyota rear springs are a good choice. I created a thread about this a few weeks ago.

thats a 10 percent lateral shift... how close to the eye do you want to push it? The spring rate is only as good as the shortest side of the spring. Another inch and you could just use the samurai rears.

Here's a little chart with some different spring lengths...

a lot of guys go to a rear xj spring for the 6.5" offset pin, they are about 7" longer then yj's overall at 52". they are 4 leaf and pretty soft so most add a leaf from a yj pack or they will die a quick death.

I'm assuming he wants the same length spring so that he doesn't have to change the hangers or shackle mounts, but wants to extend the wheel base.

The reason that those springs don't offset more than a couple inches is because the ride gets so hard and there is so much stress on the short side of the spring. As you get longer springs, like the XJ's and the rear-yotas, the short side still doesn't get much shorter than 20". The reason being, that the closer your axel gets to the eye, the more it will ride like a samurai on stock springs.
Rear sami axles are 39" making their center 19.5" The front's are even shorter at 36" making their center at 18"

If your goal is to have the axel shoved as far forward as possible, but not have a lot of frame out in front of it for the spring to mount to... then maybe eliptical or coil springs would be the rout to go?
