I have a '93 crewcab that I would like to convert to 4wd. I have a divorced np205 and the front axle sitting here waiting to do it. I am wondering if someone knows of a place that sells a kit or just the front brackets to mount the leafs to?

I know a lot of people will just say to get a different truck. I like this one and it only has 80k on it and has never towed anything in its life.

What front end do you have & does the truck have coils or leafs?

right now it has the 2wd crossed beam setup with coils. I know i'll have to go up a bit to clear the crossmember under the engine, but with a 12' wheelbase I think I have plenty of room to go up

The easiest way to get leafs under the front would be to use one of the shackle reversal kits from Sky etc. Just need to get the rear hangars for the fron leafs from the JY or Ford.

Im doing this to my 85 F250 right now. If you are using a 85-97 60 like I am, you have two options: duplicate the factory setup, or do it your way. I made my own mounts running shackles in the back. Front hanger is basically the same as what the toyota guys run for their SAS kits. Shackle hangers are 1.25" id tubing with replacement F350 leaf spring bushings mounted below the frame.

Or like 82F100SWB said, run the sky kit if you dont mind the thing being pretty tall. I'm trying to keep mine as low or lower than a stock F350, so i opted to make my own stuff. Plus with the 2wd and 4wd frame differences up front I wasnt sure if the sky kit would bolt up to the 2wd frame.

ford doesn't make them any more.

Here's what I did, most of the stuff is explained in the forum. It sits the same height as a factory one ton 4x4. I'm using a 4" block in the rear just like the factory. I load the truck heavy a lot, and the 4" block sits the truck with only a 1" rake. When it's on the overloads it sits down in the back a little bit. When I get a chance I'm going to go with a 5" block in the rear.

I don't check on here much but I'll try for the next couple of days, if you have any questions.

You can use the factory raius arms off of a 70's f150 or bronco use the coils that are in it or get lift coils and buy the ears to weld onto the axle from bronco grave yard.

Thanks offroad addiction. The pics and parts list on your build are exactly what I am looking for. I thought about doing the radius arm thing, but don't feel comfortable with going that route and still expecting the truck to carry the loads I want to carry.

I will verify that the SKY/ORU shackle kit works, my 94 was 2wd and this is the route I took, and for a while, the front spring - rear hanger bracket was no longer available from ford (bought mine 3 years ago and they were SCARCE) but I read somewhere on fullsizebronco or another website, that they are being re-popped (don't quote me on this). Still a little fabrication and some 1/4" plate could make them quite easily.

This was over on FSB;

It's worth a shot for the front spring, rear hanger. Eventually I will get around to attemtping to attain these, lol.

That is another good piece of knowledge. I'll give them a ring next week and get that ordered. I'm not overly concerned with height as I will be running something in the 37-40 inch range. Plan on removing the bed and dropping on a flat bed and probably a welder in the near future so I can use it around the farm and when I tow the jeep somewhere for the weekend.

hot damn ole nasty. that was the money link right there. the parts diagram doesn't match with the description, so I will have to call to verify but there will be a pair of those on order by close of business monday..

Post up when you get those hangers. If they got 'em I'll put in my order.

As far as the rear hangers, all the F-250 and 350 trucks from 1980 to 1997 use that hanger. They have to be avalible in the local junk yard, I think I have 3 parts trucks with them on it. None that I have ever seen have been in bad shape? Any reason to buy new?

what do you want for a set of hangers?

I don't know? Had not thought about it, how soon do you need them? I'm getting ready for a wheeling trip this weekend and wouldn't be able to get them off for a while.

Probably $30 for the set, plus shipping? Should be able to ship them for $10 or under.

that divorced 205 tucks up nice under the rear seat. need to remove a crossmember or 2 and make a new one. i used 1.5 X 1.5 X .25 wall square tube and 1/2 X 3" flat stock. grab a rear driveshaft out of a crew or club cab donor truck and a driveshaft place can fix them up so that you'll have a intermediate shaft, 1 piece rear, and 2 piece front with the carrier on the tranny crossmember. you might want to grab a 4X4 tranny crossmember too. heres some pics. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=104277&id=660066523&l=17cf868eae
