I used one and wasn't to happy...for street driving it wouldn't be bad but staying in low gear and heating up te fluid isn't good...I ran a 3 footer and a 2 footer and it wouldn't keep the tranny below 250 during very mild offroad driving....got one I sell ya if ya wanna try it for yourself......

All auto tranny rovers come with them. Work well when mounted up front with flow. I don't know about other locations.
I have towed, ran in 1st low for hours, and generally abused mine will never triggering the temp sensor.

Check out the Hayden Rapid-Cool tranny coolers. They are of a plate design, and can be sandwiched with another one. For instance, the guys in my local shop (thanks jeepbeater) have two sandwiched together w/a small 10" fan on the back. One is for my tranny, the other for my ps pump. They are mounted near the firewall on a section of cage tubing - up & out of the way....
Don't bother with the finned tube design, or the cheapie aluminum finned square ones. They suck ass.

yellowsub, I used my AC condencer for my trany coller and I can wheel all day and on some hard lines in low. I can hold my hand on the tranny pan and it is not hot at all.

LOL! Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I was a bit harsh. The tube ones aren't that bad, but the aluminum pos ones piss me off. I got all cut up on the last one I used, so I guess I have a personal "thing" against those fawkers....:flipoff2:
