My high steer arms for my D44 just arrived. They look plenty heavy duty - now lets just hope the machine shop doesn't screw up my knuckles tapping them.

And yes I am really just shwoing off my new toys.

I'm kinda partial to the Parts Mike Super Arms myself.... but that's just my choice.

Did you give the machine shop these dimensions?

I haven't taken them into do the machining yet - but I do have that exact schematic printed out to give them. Thanks though. And I am going to get in writting that they will buy me some new knuckles if they mess them up...

Looks like I'm a few steps ahead of you. I got my driver side TRE on yesterday .

Now I need to go to Scouters house with a case of  to get the pass side tapped and ream the hole for the draglink.

I wish there was a low cost 7/8-18 left hand tap!

Old Scout,
Nope just a bad angle on the picture - they are tapered for standard chevy 7/8 TRE.

Also ---- what diameter ID and OD tubing did you end up using for your tie rod? I know you had a post on it last week and I should search..... I do recall it was 4130. How was it to work with compared to regular steel?

Thanks and stuff....

I had to scrap my Cromo plans. My supplier couldn't get what I wanted and said there was now a 60' minimum because he had to order it!

I bought a 4' and a 5' sticks of DOM here. (http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?pid=7785&step=4&showunits=inches)

Cheap in my mind ~18.00 and 21.00 for the tube.

I got my links (.375 wall DOM) cut and tapped, with the TRE's from Mike Ladd at Bent and Twisted. He might be able to sell you just the tube. He's on the board.

Chris, let me know how everything works out for you, looks like I might end up using that 44 after all.

I'm taking good notes so if you need the info you know how to get a hold of me. Bad news about your axles... Dang, sometimes you just want to strangle some people.

thanks Chris, I'll be in touch,
I just bought Rande's '72 with a bunch of extra parts,
(from down in Winona, MN)

& it looks like I'll still get the axles, just a longer wait.....

So I might do a SOA with that 14bolt/44 combo that I 've already got, & put the axles that I'm going to get under the prodject in my garage that is currently on hold!?

who knows? we'll see!

That is a template for the passenger knuckle drill and tap, not a template of an arm. Who is the blind one here? Piss off.
