what transfer case is used in this swap, the chevy 261XHD, or the dodge 271?

do you have a writeup on any swaps?

I have some pics, I'll work on getting them up. We use the 271.

please post write up, i have a 1000 series and PDQ is building me converter. I was still unsure about what transfer case to use. but it looks like this might be more straight forward than i thought.

Call Destroked. You will need their XFC TCM, output shaft, 4x4 tail housing if it's not already, reluctor ring, and we can get you the correct clocking ring for the t-case as well as the brackets.

Keep in mind that you will loose your shift indicator (until we release something down the road to solve the issue). You will also need a laptop to tune the transmission once it's all said and done.

If you're pushing anything over stock HP you will need to do serious upgrades to the Allison, but Scott @ Destroked can guide you through that.

(pulling it apart after the first time I put it in and cooked it in one day)

Keep in mind that you will need a GM bell-housing on your 1000, then you need a $700 adapter plate that Scott sells. If you have the #3 SAE, you will need to swap to a GM, or call Howard's Transmissions and get their adapter plate, converter flex plate adapter and converter crank adapter. Either way it's expensive.

All the parts from Scott are just over $2,000, and that assuming you don't need your trans built. He got mine all set up with extra clutches, valve body kit, modified pressures (300 psi) etc.. for over $4,000 installed. Just a friendly warning, the costs can get out of hand quickly... not to mention the drive shaft mods you will have to make.

my allison has a bunch of tcs goodies.my truck put down 618hp on 40's so a built trans is a must. also, i got the adapter plate from a short bus that had an allison in it, so i didnt have to buy the adapter plate and PDQ made my converter to fit the factory style flex plate, but have the allison snout and bowl. now i just need to gather up all the electronics :)
