I'll probly be heading out there with some friends during thanksgivig. Who's been there? Is it mainly dune riding, or can i get away without a paddle?Any pics? Oh yeah, i have a 85 ktm250. <IMG SRC="smilies/bounce2.gif" border="0">

I have pictures of the Mountain on my old web page. www.skyfamily.com/jeffbuck/redneckracin.html (http://www.skyfamily.com/jeffbuck/redneckracin.html)
Having a paddle helps but you can get around kind of without one.

With a 250 you might need a paddle to get to the top of Sand Mountain but the dunes there are huge and there's several trails all over that you wouldn't need a paddle for. Have fun!!!! I'm going in 2 days....GET IT!!

Put your paddle on first and ride the mountain when you get there. After you have done that and have gotten completely bored with it (you will), swap out the paddle and go ride across the highway along the powerline roads, up into the mountains, across the salt flats, whatever, it is awesome, its some of the best riding I have ever done.

Thanksgiving is cold out there so dress accordingly.
If your lucky it might rain before you get there and you wont need a paddle to climb the mountain.
Have fun.
