: !.6 8v bare minumum wiring...
I'm getting almost to the point of wiring my motor for my sami based buggy, I don't have any stock lights etc. don't care about the dash stuff at this point hmmm tach might be nice but its an auto so who cares. Just want to make it run right any one have a bare bones wiring diagram?
I have a complete 1.6 8v harness and the stock one from the 87 sami.
Thanks guys.
bobaki 10-15-2002, 04:37 PM you going FI or carb?.................:D
tZUKnami 10-15-2002, 05:06 PM Maybe this will help:8v EFI Swap (http://www.yankeetoys.org/mini4x/efiswap/efiswap.htm)
I seen that just hoping to find something that says all you need to run this damn thing is the blue and yellow wire that hook to the computer and put power to the other one....
 I could totaly do it proper but in this case this is a trail only rig and all that stuff sounds like work....OK I'm Lazy
oh its an efi out of a 92
spencurai 10-15-2002, 09:20 PM I am looking into doing the same thing. I have looked at that page but I dont have access to the stock wiring harness. I think you end up using the stock ECU but I need it to pass emissions and all that fun stuff. please help us out people. :)

I second that motion (minus the emissions stuff I just want it run good):D
Someone on here knows how come awnnn spill it out....
and i thought this was a serious rockcrawling board....no answers no one just get a motor running without all the other crap....;) j/k
billj 10-18-2002, 12:45 PM I´ll assume that you have the FSM schematic. If not, then get it. I´m not trying to be a smart-ass, but with this wiring diagram, it´s really obvious what is and what´s not needed.
There are a half-dozen or so sensors that need to be hooked up, as well as the disty and ignitor. Another sensor that might give you some trouble is the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) located in the stock instrument cluster. You DO have the stock instrument cluster, right?!?!?:p
My FSM is for the 16 valve, but if you´ve any specific questions, maybe there´s enough similarity that I could help ya out.;)

stock instrument cluster...ummm out of the 92 no don't have it but I've got a garbage bag full of wires and little things like sensores and stuff...and its an 8 valve. I guess I'll have to go read the schematics..
zooki guy 10-18-2002, 01:48 PM you need to get the speed sensor for the 92 or your engine will run in limp mode. :D :D
hmmm I wonder if its my garbage bag?whats it look like...? actualy now that I think about I believe the guy I bought it from pointed something out that I needed for it to run...

Its is in the pod where the speedo is. You got the motor off of Ron in coquitlum didnt you. The motor will run but not to full potential.
yeah I did... guess I'll have to get one. so do I need the whole cluster?
mini4by 10-19-2002, 07:38 PM Don't need the whole cluster just a speeed sensor. I had Brent install one in my Sammy speedo. Other vendors can/will do it too.
