iv got my SBC sittin in the frame rails, ready to be wired.. got a few questions to those who have been here and done this.. was an 89 TBI 2.5L..now a 69-79 4bolt main 350 carbd with hei ign.

heres my q's..
my stock 2.5L coil wires, theres 2 plugs. one plug has a single wire(which my old tach is hookd to), and the other has 3 wires..which wires go where on my chevy HEI dis??

2nd. chevy alt. has the same plug that my 2.5L had,just backwards(ex.heavy gage wire on the 2.5 plug is on the left, where the large on the chevy would be on the right) can i just switch the 2 wires around on the 2.5L plug so that there in the same spot as the chevys...

3rd fuel pump.. chevy runs a mach.fuel pump.. can i just run off my in tank fuel pump?..with or with out a reg?

the jeep ran off about 35 psi the chevy is arounf 5-8psi so you would have to run a regulator and block the mech. chevy pump off. or just get an older sending unit out of a tank that was for a 4.2 put that tank in so u still have a fuel gauge and run the chevy mech pump.

sry didnt realise the tbi part lol. they run at about 10-15 psi so if i were doing it i would proboly get a regulator and block the chevy mech pump off

you will only need one wire to the tach on the HEI, I am trying to remember when i did a similar swap I had the info and I am leaning to a green wire from the 2.5 tach plug? the HEI does need 12v power wire to it (same plug) I found it was easier to run a new heavier gauge wire through a relay (I didn't want dizzy problems not getting enough juice)
see if someone can print you off the 2.5 jeep wiring diagram from all-data systems.

one of the wires from the stock ignition module is for the tack yellow or green i beleive and the heaviest gauge should be a good power for the hei
