Why would you want to do this instead of coil overs with a 3 link?

THe SAS is the expensive part, you can probably find some used Coil overs for a reasonable price and then a little more FAb work.

why do you think so many people use them when SASing older trucks?

coilovers/links is alot more expensive than leaf springs in general. hell, just the link ends would cost more than a set of leaf springs

OK, I'm spoiled so I dont always think it through.
I think there is a guy who did an FJ that way on the FJ Cruiser Forum but I cant remember his name, I think it is Sol or Saul, or Sal. I saw it once on there but can tremember where.

sell your overpriced FJ and buy a truck you can afford to modify

it is like having a Corvette parked outside of your single wide trailer or a Yugo parked outside your ocean front property:homer:

the biggest reason is not expence its simplicity. everybody said that putting leafs in the rear of my tj was a dumb idea too but i would put up against any coil rig any day.

hey mad-dog

Did you have to remove your transfer case cross member to do the links?
I have looked at tons of SAS picks and haven't seen if the link mounts are forward of the cross member.
No atlas for me chain drive with a doubler in the future.

Sol used leafs in the rear and 3 link up front. I haven't seen one on the FJ Forums with leafs in the front.

Leafs are easier to engineer and harder to screw up. Lower performance than a properly set up link system. Great option for DIY with moderate skill.

If you're having a shop do it, go links!
Leafs have no bling factor for a $$$$ wheelin' rig like an FJC.

Anything more on this? I'd like to see a SOA front with 4 link rear..

Is there even enough frame forward of the front wheel wells to take spring hangers? Are you planning to add frame length, if not?

If you're asking me, I have no idea. I've never been under one before.
