the build thread should be starting soon the goal is to keep the rig as low as possible with rockwells theres about 4 inches between the top of the axle and the radiator at full stuff so not really enought room to get a 4link in there is the 3link strong enough? I dont think there would be a problem but Iam looking for suggestions.

i did it....so did a buddy. works great seems strong enough. bigblocks and
47" pitbulls and i had 49" irocs. just make sure your top link mounts and trackbar mounts and links are strong 1.25" heims an 2" .250 wall is what we used

I wanted to do this and exhausted every single option to try to do this... just couldnt get it figured out. I wanted a completly flat belly so that wasnt an option for me. they only way i could have figured it out was to build a subframe to hang down more like a buggy and just didnt seem feasable. the wheelbase on mine was 130 and being that long i wanted as much under the belly as i could get.

how do you like the 3link compared to a 4link? I have read a bunch of mixed reviews. This will be my first linked rig just want to get it right

For clearance, and lower stance i loved it. i've heard a lot of crud about how 3 links dont handle great like a 4 link but shit rockwell rigs arent usually built for speed. you'll be able to do anything and everything you want and will never know the diffrence. my old jeep on one tons was a 3 link on and it sold me. just worked great.

Like i stressed just make sure your top link is strong as well as your track bar and braket set up. I used all 3/8" plate. I wouldnt recomend cutting corners and using cheaper heims there, just for safety factor since you only have one top link. the force of the top axle is pushing back on the top arm when under throttle so keep that in mind when your building your brakets too. i dont have a pic of the frame mount but i sandwiched the frame with 3/8s, and sleaved the frame with 1" ID dom. them on the inside had a double sheer braket with gussets from hell too. Good luck with the build.
